As the year draws to a close I can look back on what has been a year of change for me - I was taken on by a new gallery - 'Gallery 6', a beautiful spacious gallery at the heart of the historic town of Newark on Trent. And, after a time of reflection, I am beginning to work more figuratively again on a new series. The inspiration for this comes from the marvelous painter Victoria Crowe, although I've yet to see he paintings in the flesh and the Giotto frescoes in Assisi which I was fortunate enough to see before the earthquake and the gift from a friend of a book about the colour Blue. The paintings also begin to explore and draw on feelings of personal loss and a grief journey - I lost my husband two years ago.

Along with the making of this series I am looking forward to working with the ceramic artist Jo Arnold in a 'call and response' project beginning in the New Year year. More on that to follow.

I continue to work with Artiq - the fast growing consultancy in Hackney's Canal side. There is a potential large job coming up in a hotel in central London.
